This policy explains what personal information Architect of Hope collects through architectofhope.org, why, and the choices you have. Architect of Hope is run by Benice Ndirangu in Kenya. If you have any question about your information, email info@architectofhope.org or message us on WhatsApp.
What we collect
- When you use our contact form: your name, your email address and your message.
- When you email us or message us on WhatsApp: the details you choose to send, such as your name, phone number and message.
- When you visit the website: our hosting provider keeps basic technical records, such as your internet address and browser type, to keep the site secure and working.
- Cookies: our cookie notice stores your cookie choice in your browser. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
The free guide and the ebook
Our free guide and our ebook are delivered through Selar, an online shop. When you tap a button to get them, you leave our website and go to Selar. The details you enter there, such as your name, email and payment details, are handled by Selar under its own privacy policy. Selar shares your name and email address with us so that we can deliver your guide or ebook and help you if anything goes wrong. We never see your full card or mobile money details.
How we use your information
- To reply to your messages and questions.
- To deliver the free guide and the ebook, and to help with any problems.
- To keep the website safe and working properly.
We use your information with your consent, to provide what you asked for, or where we have a fair reason, such as keeping the website secure. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We only share information with the services that help us run Architect of Hope: our website and email host, Selar for the free guide and ebook, and WhatsApp (Meta) when you choose to message us there. Each of them protects your information under their own policies. We will also share information if the law requires it.
Visitor statistics
We do not use visitor statistics tools at the moment. If we add one in future, such as Google Analytics, it will only run if you agree through our cookie notice, and we will update this policy first.
How long we keep it
We keep your messages only as long as we need them to help you, and for no more than two years. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
Your rights
Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy,
- correct information that is wrong,
- delete your information,
- stop using your information, or withdraw a consent you gave.
To do any of these, email info@architectofhope.org. If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner at odpc.go.ke.
Keeping it safe
Our website uses a secure, encrypted connection, and we limit who can see your information. No website can be completely secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.
Children
Our website is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
